A Chinese Rural Life

I presume a
Good Morning short video I received sheds light on a typical daily life of a traditional Chinese family, particularly those living in the rural area during those days when there is no internet or other modern technology to talk of. In 2020, agricultural land in China was reported to be at 56.08 %.  No doubt, China is a big agricultural country  and has a long history of farming to boast of. Wouldn't be surprised if children in rural areas would still amuse themselves with different games while adults worked in the paddy field or farm. In the 60s and 70s, in rural Malaysia where adults were not involved in farming, they would tend to their family run shops instead; and children would either help with daily chores and still play the games depicted and be involved in many other activities too; flying kites and catching fishes in little streams included. Keeping chickens, ducks and other poultry or animals in the backyard was a norm but in the countryside where there was a majority of Malay Muslims, pigs were not reared. Chinese operas or puppet shows were normally performed in temples if there were temples. With the advent of television, family members would gather together especially at night to watch TV and some neigbours who didn't own a TV would come and join them. I remember looking and pulling mom's grey hair too.

Have a glimpse of a Chinese rural life!
