Dad must have loved the radio. Remember he would play it loudly almost the whole day and during this time when Chinese New Year is just round the corner, many Chinese New Year songs would be in the air. It was a norm to hear the festive songs blaring out from the neighbours' house then just like later when cassette tapes became popular. Today, these songs would be played in public places like the shopping malls and supermarkets and one would catch them in the social media too; though it probably wouldn't quite match the mood of yesterday.
