Happy Duan Wu Jie 2022!

Had dumpling for breakfast. Why, it's Duan Wu Jie 端午节, otherwise known as Dragon Boat Festival or Double Fifth Festival ; Double Fifth  because it falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar each year. The festival commemorates the death of the much loved poet and minister Qu Yuan of the ancient state of Chu during the Warring States period of the Zhou dynasty; not a very happy event, someone pointed out and thus ought not to wish each other a happy day but a safe and healthy one instead. To be safe and healthy is to be happy. Happy Duan Wu Jie!
