Happy Duānwǔjié everyone!


For the past few days, the kitchen had  been busy with the activity of producing chang. Chang or Zongzi  粽 子  is a traditional Chinese rice dish known to the West as rice dumpling or sticky rice dumpling. It is made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves and is available the whole year round; but perhaps is produced more now that it is the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese calendar and Chinese all over the world are celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival or what we called Duānwǔjié 端午节. Happy Duānwǔjié everyone!
