It should be common knowledge that Chinese could be found all over the world. Heard once that they are like grass; they could be found everywhere, even in harsh conditions where they are found to be rather resilient. In a post in FB, it is stated that Thailand has the most Chinese followed by Malaysia, USA and Indonesia. In some countries, the Chinese form a very distinct group and irked the locals for having their own schools and still keeping their cultures and religion. There, in bad times the Chinese becomes scapegoats for whatever trouble that arises and there would be calls for them to give up their language, culture or religion in order to assimilate and integrate with the locals. In Thailand and Indonesia, some said that the Chinese have assimilated and integrated well. Many Chinese there are said to have adopted non-Chinese names and have forgotten their language. Having assimilated and integrated, it is a wonder that the Chinese in these countries still appeared as Chinese in datas.
