Had Taiwanese minced meat noodle soup for breakfast. Taiwan noodles I read, are called Ta-a mi 擔仔麵. According to a story, a 20-year-old fisherman Hong Yutou 洪芋頭 in Tainan started selling the noodle during the typhoon season when he couldn't go out to sea to fish. Before setting up a proper stall, he had at first carried his wares in the streets using a shoulder pole. Hence, the noodle name, Ta-a mi 擔仔麵 shoulder pole noodle. Wonder if the local Taiwanese minced meat noodle soup is anything like the Taiwanese noodle.
