So, there is such thing as the Korean age. For a long time, Chinese have been living with a Chinese age but I just learned of the Korean age when South Korea's president Yoon Suk Yeol, citing unnecessary social and economic costs caused by traditional age-counting methods managed to push for change and the country scrapped that system in favour of the international method of calculating one's age. Korean age has its roots in China where babies on being born are considered a year old and not as age zero as in international age. That I can understand since a baby has been developing in the womb for months. Korean age however could be one or even two years older than their international age as they also have the calendar age where a year is added to their Chinese age on January 1. 86.2% of respondents in a poll had welcomed the international age system. Who wouldn't if it could make you younger?
