A Chinese Vase

It probably wouldn't cross the mind that a vase could have a cover but that's exactly what this vase from the Qing dynasty has. A vase, I've  thought is for flowers; but perhaps in the advent of the absence of flowers, a cover would make the vase a unique and attractive decorative piece. Ming porcelain needs no introduction; being world famous and a highly sought-after item in China and abroad. Made of a mixture of clay and other minerals fired at temperatures between 1300 and 1400 degrees Celsius to give it its signature pure whiteness and translucency, the beauty of Ming porcelain would further be enhanced with blue designs painted on it blue using cobalt oxide.

Just enjoy this piece of art from Kangxi reign, won't you?
