Oranges for Chinese New Year were in the news early in the month. There were allegations that some enforcement personnel in the capital had been soliciting bribes from traders selling oranges. As a result, traders had to hike up the price, charging a whopping RM52 for only 20 oranges. That of course, would be a matter of concern as oranges, a symbol of good fortune, is a must for Chinese New Year. Had had my first orange today!
