A Malaysian Chinese Lunch

The other day when my other niece came with her kids, I was treated to a packed lunch which reminded of those I used to have many years ago while living in Petaling Jaya. Lunch and dinner then used to be economy rice 经济饭. That is commonly found all over Malaysia, sold by Chinese food vendors in stalls and shops, in hawkers centers and food court. Economy rice is simply a plate of rice which comes with portions of different dishes of your choice. As its name implies, it is cheap. Used to be two to three dollars then depending on the dishes you pick; but most certainly not now that cost of living has been higher. Hokkiens call economy rice cai png 菜饭.

My packed lunch has a big fish in it. Can you guess which one it is?
