Often heard that Chinese could be found all over the world; just that their numbers differ. Aware that there are Chinese in Africa; though their numbers could not match those in South East Asia. Off the coast of Kenya, in Pate Island’s Siyu village; I read of 75-year-old Mama Baraka who has since a kid, been reminded by her grandparents to not forget her Chinese roots. Said to be a descendant of one of the 15th century Chinese admiral Zheng He's sailors, a single porcelain bowl which has been a family heirloom for generations stands testimony to her claim. In South East Asia, most probably don't owe such treasure. Most, especially those from Malaysia and Singapore however still retain their Chinese names, language and culture.
