Happy 2022!

No new year’s eve celebration permits have been approved by the police nationwide this year; that means no fireworks at Kuala Lumpur hotspots and no big crowds to celebrate the arrival of 2022 which aims to curb the spread of Covid-19. The prime minister had said the celebration would be replaced with prayers at Putra Mosque in Putrajaya instead as a sign of respect and sympathy for the flood victims that hit the country; all very good if there isn't a big crowd too and sops are adhered too. The zeal of celebrating the new year however remains intact; in Faceback I've seen an acquaintance doing the countdown with her group of friends in a swimming pool and the social media is deluged with messages and greetings for the new year. Some people even wished others a happy Tiger year which I suppose isn't quite right. The Chinese year of the Tiger shouldn't be here until the bull of 2021 officially leaves on Chinese New Year which falls on February 1 this year. Anyway, Happy New Year 2022 everyone!

Happy New Year greetings for 2022. Can you spot the tiger?

And a new year song from ABBA!
