An old Chinese song which was translated from Japanese and which is immensely popular probably is 榕树下 Rong Shu Xia Under the Banyan Tree. The song is a favourite in karaoke; and it has been sung so many times and by so many famous singers, both male and female including Yu Tian 余天 and Teresa Teng; and for so many years too that one should be forgiven to think that it is a Chinese original.
