A Date With Spring

Just read that someone has friends in Shanghai who couldn't come home to KL, a friend in Taipei who couldn't be in Kansas and another in New York who couldn't make it to Hong Kong for the Chinese New Year reunion dinner. When people live in different continents, it probably isn't surprising that they could not make it to the dinner; what with the present Covid 19 pandemic. With an SOP that limits the dinner to 15 family members living within a 10 km radius which must not involve interstate or inter-district travel, the likelihood of missing the dinner date increases; and at times like this, parents probably would be glad to have children living in the same house as them or at least live near them. That of course applies to a small loving family whose members cherish each other's company. Chinese families used to be big; it was common for a couple of the last generation to have nine or ten children; maybe more.
