Decades ago when I was backpacking with friends to London, I remember going through customs manned mainly by Indians in Heathrow Airport. Just in 2019, my friends and I were there when the United Kingdom general election was held. In Leyton where we stayed, there was a Muslim population and at a voting centre, a lady wearing a headscarf seemed to be in charge; Indian Muslim, most probably. London being so cosmopolitan; report on Oxford developers of rapid Covid-19 test who were awarded the RAEng President's Special Award being mainly Chinese probably wouldn't raise an eyebrow. Not especially when the University of Oxford researchers were based at OSCAR, the Oxford Suzhou Centre for Advanced Research. The centre at Suzhou, China was the university’s first overseas centre for physical science and engineering research.
