Collectibles for schoolchildren in the 60s and 70s, I suppose, used to be stamps which one would patiently arrange in a stamp album; and many other unlikely things like matchbox labels, cigarette boxes; but I'm not sure if people then collect miniatures of motorcycles, cars or superheroes like Batman and Robin or any members of the Avengers. Haven't seen that occuring in the past and wasn't very keen about them unlike my nephew who in the 80s went crazy over such miniatures. Even then, he had started buying little this and that and when he bought a lifelike gory creature with wings like a demon with intention to put it in a glass cabinet as exhibit, I commented that it was not what normal Chinese would do. People nowadays don't care about auspicious signs that motivate, I said and asked him to just get a 福禄寿, Fú Lù Shòu. That's the gods of the three stars 三星, representing the three qualities of Prosperity (Fu), Status (Lu), and Longevity (Shou) usually found decorating the living rooms of traditional Chinese homes.
