A Hokkien TV series Taiwan Story, presently aired in Astro; which depicts the changes Taiwan went through over the past century; is said to be adapted from four Taiwanese classic folk songs. The current theme song 雨夜花 The Torment of a Flower also loosely translated as Rainy Night Flower is an old Hokkien classic composed in 1934 by the Father of Taiwanese folk songs, Teng Yu-hsien 鄧雨賢. Ironically, the composer was a Hakka and had besides Hokkien songs, written Japanese songs. Now, I'm wondering if his other notable works created between 1933 and 1937 like 望春風, 月夜愁 and 四季紅 would be included.
