Chinese Birthday

Just the other day, someone posted a picture of a plate of eggs which were dyed red and captioned it, My Chinese Birthday. Nowadays, Chinese, I suppose, not in Malaysia but also all over the world, celebrate their birthdays simply with a cake with lighted candles on it; just like the people in the West. Not sure how they do it in ancient time; maybe they eat mee suah; that's a type of noodles. I'm sure some people still do that as noodles represents long life. In Malaysia, to celebrate the arrival of new babies,  besides eggs dyed red, festive cakes, usually angku and nasi kunyit and chicken curry are still given to friends and  relatives a month after the babies are born. People do give a cake too these days; I think, to celebrate the child's birthday. After all, a baby is considered one year old at birth. Life starts at conception and a baby, lest one forgets, has already been in the womb for nine whole months.
