Some traditional cakes are just a joy to look at. They have colours; but not too colourful to turn you off. Take for instance these huat kuih or Chinese steamed cake which are often used to offer to the Gods during festivals. Besides being tasty, they seem to look up at you with welcoming smiles on their faces! No wonder they are called huat kuih. Huat, literally means grow and they are supposed to bring you luck and prosperity! May this New Year brings you luck and prosperity!
