One of Malaysia's top Chinese artiste, I suppose shares the same name as the Hong Kong actor who plays Iron Head in Stephen Chow's hit movie, Shaolin Soccer. Huang Yi Fei, the Malaysian artiste and Hong Kong's Wong Yat-fei both have their name written as 黄一飞 but of course, the Malaysian star at over fifty years is still younger and is involved in not just acting but singing, songwriting and Chinese painting as well. He sings in Mandarin, Cantonese, English sometimes but is more renowned for his Hokkien songs which he writes and performs, some of which have simply funny lyrics about our mundane life such as 大白公梦 Dream of a Deity and 一百万 A million.When he came to perform in a charity concert in Taiping weeks ago, I don't think he sang these two songs which I extremely like especially the latter; but his performance was indeed lively and a joy to watch.
