Calabash for a Green Earth

There was a time when I like to peep into my neighbour's house. You see, my neighbour had planted some calabash and the flowers were blooming! The calabash is said to be a traditional low-calorie Asian vegetable, possessing various amounts of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, lipids and amino acids. The stems and leaves are covered with short bristles, and the leaves are large and triangular. Flowers are large and showy and the green fruits; bottle-shaped, turn yellowish brown finally. In ancient China, long before there were Tupperware, these were used to contain water and wine. Good for a green earth!
