Li, Li

No, don't know any Li Na;  Li Ning, maybe. Both are big names in sports but then, tennis isn't my cup of tea. Li Ning, I have seen in TV when on the People's Republic of China first Summer Olympic outing in 1984, he won three gold medals, two silvers, and one bronze; and the most decorated Chinese athlete then went on to become the little prince of gymnastics. Then of course, I have bought T-shirts from a shop bearing his name in Chengdu during my trip to UNESCO World Heritage Site Jiuzhaigou 九寨沟, a nature reserve and national park located in the north of Sichuan Province in the southwestern region of China. It seems Li Ning  founded the sportswear company Li-Ning which sells footwear and sporting apparel upon retirement. As for Li Na, I just read that her wax figure is available at Madame Tussauds in her birth place in Wuhan, Hubei. Of course, the Chinese professional tennis player deserves a place. She was after all, the first player from Asia  to reach and won a Grand Slam final.
