A Famous Impersonator

Teoh Beng Hock's name most probably rings a bell, but this Teoh Beng Hock may not be the Teoh Beng Hock that you know. This Teoh Beng Hock, more popularly known as Rocky Teoh (inset), made his name in the 60s, cutting records and touring Malaysia, Singapore and even Thailand, playing to packed crowds with his band, The Fabulous Falcon . As a child, I have heard about him, driving a flashy car round town which was of course a big thing in a little town like Taiping. I don't know whether the Taiping guy gyrated his hip like  the American singer, Elvis Presley but Rocky Teoh was duped Malaysia's first and best Elvis Presley impersonator not for just nothing. If you hear him sing, you'd inadvertently be reminded of the late King of Rock and Roll himself.
