Don't Know Much about Li Chun

Chinese New Year is just around the corner and here, I'm getting confused about Chinese New Year and Li Chun 立春. Chinese New Year is the first day of the year in the Chinese Lunar calendar. The traditional Chinese calendar divides a year into 24 solar terms and  Li Chun which mean the beginning of Spring is the first solar term which signify the Chinese Solar calendar's first month. It sounds as if Chinese New Year is Li Chun and  Li Chun is Chinese New Year; but strangely they fall on different days.  And strange too, during Li Chun, one can balance an egg upright on a flat surface. This year Li Chun falls on 3 February and like the years before, people get a lot of fun balancing eggs!
