Tea Sage

What a waste! Just the other day, it was discovered that the Chinese tea in the cupboard had all exceeded its expiry date. In a Chinese  household, it was common for mothers to advise their children to eat up all their food on their plates lest the thunder god would strike them. The same advice has not been true for Chinese tea I suppose. If there's anyone against the wastage, it has to be Lu Yu   陆羽. That's the Chinese Sage of Tea; not a heavenly being really; but a man who contribute much to Chinese tea culture. Lu Yu lived during the Tang dynasty. Around CE 760, he authored the Classic of Tea  茶經 which comprised 3 books describing how tea plants were grown and how the leaves were processed among other things. The three books which comprised a total of 10 chapters were bound into a single volume after the Tang Dynasty.
