Green Post: Car Free

You'd think that trishaw riders in Penang never have it better. There was a report come Dec 11, trishaw riders there who register with the Penang Tourism Department to take part in the George Town Car Free Day, are set to get a RM20 bonus. Already, they were destined to get their RM100 aid monthly instead of once every two months if they turn up at Penang's heritage zone every Sunday between 7 am and 5 pm. These are most definitely the Car Free Day zones where no vehicles except bicycles and trishaws are allowed. The initiative which is one of a kind in Malaysia is aimed at shrinking Penang’s carbon footprint besides, helping the lower-income groups raise their income. Now, you'd probably think the environment never have it better, too!
