A Hokkien Thanksgiving 2008

Valentine's Day coincide with the ninth day of the Chinese New Year this year! Lovers must be kept pretty busy! Some lovers would most probably fumed too for they could not possibly get one hundred per cent of their partner's time. Each partner, unless they are Christians or of other faiths rather than the Taoist faith , would have to go home for the annual Thanksgiving. As usual, to remember an important incident in the past, special prayers would be performed at midnight and the family would then gather to have a midnight feast. There shouldn't be any harm though if lovers want to celebrate a merry Valentine's Day with the family instead of having a quiet Valentine's Day for two!
